Daharki, Sindh


Daharki is a city of Ghotki District in the Sindh province of Pakistan. It is the capital of Daharki Taluka - an administrative subdivision of the district.[1] It is situate about 100km from Sukkur, and between Mirpur Mathelo and Ubaro.
This is a small city like town in province of Sindh in Pakistan. Daharki is very popular with respect to its business trade in all over the province especially cotton factories. There are several religious places in the city including: Bhurchundi Shareef, Chalan Faqeer, Peer Aziz Karmani(near Ubaro), Peer Pakhroi Laal, Soi Shareef and Peer Gulab Shah Bukhari.
This city is very much impressive for its night look of Urea Plant named ENGRO CHEMICALS (Pvt) Ltd. The city also has a big gas company named Mari gas co.ltd. near to these companies there 235MW Power station named Liberty Power plant.
Foundation Power Company (Daharki) Limited (FPCDL), a subsidiary of Fauji Foundation, involves construction of a 176 MW, low-BTU gas fired, Combined Cycle Power Plant (CCPP) near Daharki, Sindh. The Plant is modern with respect to its technology and functioning. The Project will start its Commercial Operation from 10 September 2009. This Combined Cycle Plant is radically different from its peers being set up in the country mainly because of it uses low BTC gas from a dedicated gas field under a 25-year agreement and because of its unique financing structure, arranged by Askari Bank Limited (formerly Askari Commercial Bank Limited). Salman Bawaney from Askari Bank Limited's Investment Banking Division is the man responsible for arranging and structuring the financing for this project.
